As an independent costume designer with 25 years of experience, Rondi Hillstrom Davis is renowned for her work in film, television, regional theatre and corporate productions.   As a collaborator, she strives to find inventive production solutions to engage both audience and corporate partners.

Her film and television credits include The Big Green (a Disney movie), 13 East (a prime time series for NBC), Full Moon in Blue Water (starring Gene Hackman and Teri Garr), The Fig Tree (for PBS Wonderworks), as well as numerous made-for-television movies and commercial spots.  Her exceptional creative talents include designs for celebrities Gene Hackman, Shelley Winters, Robert Mitchum, Burgess Meredith, Jimmy Smitts, Patti LaBelle, Harry Connick Jr. and Tyne Daly.

In addition to film and television, she has designed costumes for Fort Worth Opera’s Three Decembers, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas Celebration, The Berkeley Repertory Theatre (California), Intiman Theatre (Seattle), Williamstown Theatre Festival (Massachusetts), the Magic Theatre (San Francisco) and the Shakespeare festivals of Dallas, Colorado and Virginia.  In the world of industrial shows, Ms. Davis has designed costumes for corporate clients including Coca Cola, IBM, Frito Lay, Dr. Pepper, Kawasaki, Sprint, Dell, Miller Beer, M&M Mars, Mary Kay Cosmetics, The Pampered Chef, EDS and many others.

Rondi has brought her talents to several theme park venues managed by Six Flags Corporation, where she designed costumes for the Batman Stunt Spectacular, Police Academy and the Dennis the Menace Screen Test.  In Branson Missouri, at Silver Dollar City, her work premiered in new shows called Listen to the River and a musical version of It’s a Wonderful Life. She has also designed for their Children’s Parade and was the production designer for Frosty.

Rondi graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and later served on the faculty there as an assistant professor of theatre for five years.  She has also taught at The University of Dallas and KD Studio’s Conservatory of Film & Dramatic Art.

Rondi Hillstrom Davis is a member of the Costume Designers Guild, local 892, Texas Association of Film and Tape Professionals, Texas Motion Picture Alliance and Women In Film, Dallas, where she served on the board.
